🚨 Scam Alert - OLX Pakistan🚨
I want to warn everyone about a scam I just experienced on OLX Pakistan. I posted an ad to sell something, and got a call from someone claiming to be from OLX. He said his name was Shan, and that for Rs. 3,350, he could feature my ad and also share it in OLX's private groups to make sure it sells fast. He spoke so confidently and said, “Selling it is my responsibility once you pay.” I trusted him and sent the money. As soon as I did, he vanished—no calls, no replies, nothing. Later, another "representative" approached me with the same story, but by then I realized it was a scam. Please be careful! These scammers are pretending to be OLX staff. It’s sad to see platforms like this being misused. I hope OLX takes this seriously and warns other users before more people get scammed. 🛑 Don’t pay anyone privately claiming to promote your ad. I have posted ads multiple times on OLX, and each time, I began receiving frequent calls from OLX representatives offering to feature my ads. After several such calls, I eventually agreed to a featured ad package offered by an OLX representative named Hadiya. I opted for a one-week ad at a cost of Rs. 2,050, with her assurance that the product would be sold within this period. However, after I made the payment and my ad was featured, she stopped following up entirely despite having been in constant contact beforehand. Unfortunately, my product remained unsold. Later, I reposted the ad on OLX and experienced a similar situation. Another representative contacted me, again promising a guaranteed sale and urging me to opt for the featured service. I agreed and paid Rs. 2,050 for a one-week ad. Soon after, she insisted I pay an additional Rs. 1,300, stating that the Rs. 2,050 package carried no guarantee, but a total of Rs. 3,350 would ensure a confirmed sale. I paid the additional amount, but once again, I received no response, and the representative stopped communicating. Committments are attached for reference. Contact details are also mentioned below.
